St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is busy this week investigating three officer involved shootings.

The most recent occurred Friday afternoon in Hibbing, where preliminary reports indicate two people were transported to a hospital with unknown injuries. Officials have said none of the officers involved were hurt.

The BCA is also in charge of the investigation into a fatal police shooting that occurred after Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a violent home invasion at a residence in the town of Vineland Thursday night.

Vineland is located along Highway 169 about a mile south of Mille Lacs Grand Casino.

Officials say four men, one of them armed with a sawed-off shotgun, burst into a home where over a dozen people were gathered and began assaulting and robbing the victims. Some of them managed to barricade themselves in a room and call 911, and the responding deputies found and arrested two suspects as they were exiting the home.

The BCA says a deputy then entered the house and found a man, identified as 20-year-old Jamison Anderson of Vineland, pointing a sawed-off shotgun at several people. The law officer opened fire and killed the young man after he ignored repeated demands to drop the shotgun. A fourth suspect was also found inside the home and was arrested without incident.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continues to investigate a fatal officer involved shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon when Austin police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance. The BCA released some addition details about that incident Friday evening.
