Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - There has been a recent increase in burglaries and stolen property at Rochester construction sites.

The latest happened late Wednesday night or early Thursday.

Police were contacted Thursday morning by a contractor at a residential construction site in the 1900 block of Alexander Rd NE, located south of East Circle Dr.

Police were told thieves had made off with copper piping from some of the homes. Water service had been activated in some of the homes and this led to an unknown amount of damage. A roll of copper piping was also taken from a construction trailer and it was valued at $500.
