(Washington, DC) -- The Minnesota Wild's slump is continuing. Last night the Washington Capitols jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two periods and hung on to defeat the Wild 4-2. It's the third loss out of their last four games on this road trip.

The Wild did come out strong in the third period witih goals from Matt Dumba and Eric Staal, but could get no closer. Devan Dubnyk made36 saves in the loss.

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks beat Montreal 4-2 last night to take a one point lead over the Wild in the Central Division.  Minnesota wraps us the five game road trip with a game at the Carolina to face the Hurricanes on Thursday
