Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Salvation Army has started its annual Red Kettle fundraising drive.

 

A kickoff event was held Thursday night. Bellringers officially began the drive at 9 a.m. Friday at the local Hy-Vee stores.

A total of 35 kettles will be out this year in Rochester, Byron, Chatfield and Stewartville.

This year’s overall goal for the Christmas campaign is  $1.075 million.

The total from last year was $1.2 million, which set a record. A fourth of  last year’s donations came from the kettles.
