Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A man from Texas will have to spend about two months in jail for leading authorities on a high-speed chase in Rochester back in April.

29-year-old Edgar Barrientos earlier pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor count of criminal vehicular operation and a misdemeanor assault charge. In addition to the jail time, Barrientos will be on probation for two years.

He was arrested following a chase that began when a State Trooper attempted to stop him for speeding on Highway 52. The high-speed pursuit through northwest Rochester lasted about 10 minutes and ended when the car driven by Barrientos collided with another car and smashed into a parked vehicle.

A juvenile girl in the car with Barrientos, and the St. Charles couple in the second vehicle, were treated for minor injuries.
