Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police have reported the arrest of a 13-year-old boy suspected of being responsible for a bogus 911 call that caused local authorities to implement their Active Shooter response and protocol.

Police Captain John Sherwin says the caller to the local law enforcement dispatch center indicated that a student at the Phoenix Academy was armed with a gun and holding a teacher hostage inside the school, which is located on 16th street southeast near Graham Arena. After all available police officers, the Rochester Fire Department and local paramedics responded, the school was placed on lockdown until police officers were able to complete a room by room search and determined there was no threat.

The 13-year-old boy is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center and faces a variety of charges, including making a terroristic threat.
