ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a 16-year-old boy in last week's fatal stabbing of a man during a fight in St. Cloud.

The Stearns County Attorney's office says the suspect was charged Monday in juvenile court with unintentional second-degree murder. Prosecutors are asking the court to certify the teen as an adult for trial.

Police say the suspect and three other males were walking by a house early Friday when a verbal exchange escalated to a fight in the street. Twenty-year-old Davee Moshea Devose, of St. Cloud, was stabbed once in the chest. He died at the scene.

Authorities found the suspect in an alley a few blocks away. Police also recovered a knife about a half-block from the scene.

The suspect remains in juvenile detention. He's due back in court Monday.
