The Rochester City Council approved its budget for 2017 at Monday night's meeting along with the property tax levy which showed a 9 percent increase.

Council President Randy Staver was on Rochester's Good Morning on KROC AM when a listener called to question him about why a 9-percent increase when inflation is only 2-percent.  He felt needless spending was getting out of hand.

The Council President is on the radio with Rich and KD every first and third Tuesday of the month, and the fifth Tuesday when necessary taking calls regarding the state of the city.
