St. Paul, MN (Learfield)  --  The Made in Minnesota program can save businesses and residents who install solar thermal systems up to 25 percent of the cost.  The application period for the solar incentive program runs through the end of February.

Funding comes from the Minnesota Department of Commerce and it has already paid for more than 700 solar projects in the first two years.  Solar startup costs have dropped dramatically in recent years.  

New federal rules mean Minnesota has to reduce carbon emissions from its power plants by more than one-third in the next 14 years.
