It may be nearing mid-June but there was frost on the ground in NE Minnesota Thursday morning as overnight temperatures dipped into the low 30s and upper 20s.
A strong storm system ripped through Rochester late Tuesday afternoon with high winds that toppled trees and caused other damage and led to the activation of the city’s outdoor warning sirens.
It was a stormy ending to the Memorial Day weekend for residents in NE Iowa and parts of SE Minnesota as strong storm cells produced tornadoes and heavy rain.
Although the weather should cooperate with those planning to do some boating on the Mississippi River in SE Minnesota this weekend, there are some issues they need to be aware of.
