SW Minnesota Woman Shot While Sleeping

BREWSTER, Minn. (AP) — Sheriff's officials are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman in a small southwestern Minnesota community.

The Nobles County Sheriff's Department says the woman's husband called 911 shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday to say someone had entered their home in Brewster and shot his wife while they slept.

Authorities say the victim was 40 years old. Two other individuals in the home at the time were not hurt.

Neighbor Earl Slocum tells The Daily Globe  the family members are friendly and are "very nice people."
