Suspension of Community College Teacher Harshly Criticized
Inver Grove Heights, MN (Learfield/MNN) -- Supporters of a sociology instructor at Inver Hills Community College think his teachers union activities are why he has been suspended and banned from campus.
Fifty-two-year-old Dave Berger has taught at the school for almost 25 years. The union approved a no-confidence vote against the school's president last month.
A spokesperson for President Tim Wynes denied Berger's suspension is a case of retaliation. The faculty union website alleges past intimidation and threats of reprisal when members have criticized the school's administration.
