Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester School Board will be holding a study session this evening, and the agenda includes discussion on a possible expansion of the 45-15 schedule now used by the Longfellow Elementary Choice School Program. Supporters of the year round schedule have been pressuring the school district to consider offering a 45-15 program at the middle and high school levels that would allow students to continue using the schedule past elementary school.

A recent survey of school district staff found strong support for the plan. 78-percent of the respondents supported an expansion of the 45-15 program and the same percentage would back the implementation of the year round schedule in the school in which they work.

The 45-15 schedule has students in class for 45 days, with 15 day long breaks between sessions and a 6 week break during the summer.
