Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Civic Theatre Company has announced the upcoming departure of the organization’s executive director.

A statement released Tuesday afternoon says Gregory Stavrou will depart this spring. He indicated he had been having discussions about when to leave the Civic Theatre for the past year, and notes the two big objectives of his 10 years in the leadership post have been accomplished. He identified those goals as improving the organization’s financial position and overseeing the completion of the new Studio Theatre.

“It has been a very full past decade at the Civic, and I am now happy to let new leadership guide the Civic into the next decade and beyond.”

The statement says Stavrou will continue working with the Civic Theatre staff and board during the transition to a new executive director to connect with donors, finish grant applications and other financial arrangements. It's unclear when his replacement will be named and exactly when Stavrou will leave the organization.
