Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is indicating alcohol may have been a contributing factor in a traffic crash that claimed the life of a young woman Friday night.

The State Patrol crash report says 23-year-old Dani Datloff of Backus was fatally injured when she pulled out from a stop sign and her car collided with a pickup traveling south on Highway 371. The deadly collision occurred around 6:30 p.m at a rural intersection about 15 miles south of Walker.

The State Patrol says the occupants of the pickup, 55-year-old Paul and 56-year-old Jennifer Hamilton of Backus, were not hurt but alcohol was detected in both of the driver and passenger.

The crash remains under investigation.
