State Jobs Report Puts Rochester’s Job Growth Rate at 3.7%
St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was steady last month at four-percent even though the state saw a net gain of 1900 jobs. A year ago, the statewide jobless rate was 3.6-percent.
The latest jobs report from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development also shows the report from August, that originally showed a net loss of 1500 jobs, has been revised to a 500 job gain for the month.
That brought the total number of jobs gained by the state over the past 12 months up to almost 41,000, which equates to a job growth rate of 1.4-percent. The national job growth is at 1.7-percent with the national jobless rate at 5-percent.
The report shows the Rochester area’s job growth rate over the past year is the strongest in the state at 3.7-percent with a net gain of over 4300 jobs.
