St. Paul, MN (Leafield News Service) -  St. Paul police say a 39-year-old mother, who was learning to drive, lost control of her car Saturday evening and killed her son.

The accident happened at Harding Senior High School shortly before 6:00 p-m. Investigators say Wah Has Paw was practicing in the school parking lot when she accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. The car went out of control and pinned three-year-old Hsa Kpaw Moo Ku against a large metal box in the parking lot. A passerby took the boy and another family member to Regions Hospital, but the child died.
