St. Paul Police Shoot Runaway Cow
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Police in St. Paul say officers had to shoot and kill a cow that escaped from the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
Sgt. Mike Ernster says the cow got loose about 11:45 a.m. Friday. Officers cornered the animal near the railroad tracks off Snelling Avenue and Energy Park Drive around 45-minutes later. Authorities weren't able to tranquilize the cow, so decided they had to shoot it.
Police say the owner of the animal plans to have it processed and donate the meat to a charity.
