St. Cloud, MN (KROC-AM News) - An apparently random knife attack on a teenage girl in St. Cloud has resulted in a second degree assault charge against a St. Cloud man.

According to WJON Radio, 29-year-old Christian De Beche was arrested following the attack on the 17-year-old girl at a Walmart Store. The police report says the victim and her mother were shopping when the man grabbed the girl and stabbed her in the back and shoulder. Her mother also saw De Beche choking the teenager before he dropped a knife on the ground and left. The man was later detained by Walmart Security guards until police arrived at the scene.

WJON is reporting the girl, who was treated for non-life threatening wounds, told police she did not know the assailant.

Bail for De Beche was set at $150,000 during his arraignment at the Stearns County Courthouse on Friday.
