Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  The Rochester Fire Dept says a sprinkler system and automatic fire alarm saved a business from significant damage.

Firefighters were sent to the Sola Salon business at 3185 41st St NW around 5:45 PM Monday and found sprinklers had already extinguished the blaze.

The end result was damage estimated at $10,000, mainly the cleanup cost.

Rochester Fire Dept. Battalion Chief Eric Kerska says, “The sprinkler system and automatic fire alarm saved the building and business from significant damage. With some clean up this business will be up and operating in short order.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
