Special Concert at Rochester’s St John’s Church
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The public is invited to a special duo concert at Rochester’s St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Saturday, May 2nd.
Singers Nora O’Sullivan and Marissa Brengman Hansen will perform a variety of songs from unknown 13th century melodies, to famous opera duets, to popular music, including contemporary Spanish and Portuguese pieces.
Some of the songs will include Flower Duet, Just A Closer Walk With Thee and You Raise Me Up. St. John liturgist Sebastian Modarelli will accompany on organ and piano. Guest musicians include Becky Hlebichuk (flute), Joan Elkins (violin) and Mark Schreiter (guitar).
There is no charge but a goodwill offering will be taken with the proceeds going to a school and health center for poor families in Argentina.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
