Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Occupants of a Rochester home had to flee early Monday after a small fire broke out.

The fire at 1605 10th St NE was reported around 2 a.m.

The fire department says five occupants were outside the home when crews arrived. The fire was confined to an exterior wall near the front door but there was smoke throughout the residence.  

There was light smoke and water damage with a preliminary estimate of $10,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The house is located near the west side of Quarry Hill park.
