BENTON COUNTY (WJON/Townsquare Media) — A State Trooper is hurt after a two vehicle crash Thursday morning in central Minnesota.

The incident happened at around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 10 in Benton County. The State Patrol says 45-year-old Trooper Daniel Orth was stopped in the left turn lane investigating a rollover. He was sitting in his squad car when a semi tractor trailer heading north on Highway 10, started to brake and the trailer swerved, hitting the front of the squad car.

Orth suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The driver of the semi, 45-year-old David Stenberg of Schofield Wisconsin, had no injuries.

Icy roads are believed to be the cause of the crash. Slick conditions were reported on roadways across central Minnesota this morning due to a dusting of snow.
