Southeastern Minnesota woke up to its first blanket of snow and that has created some travel issues this morning, especially on bridges.

1-3 inches has fallen and area law enforcement officials report an increased number of fender benders so far and are urging motorists to slow down.  The National Weather Service expects this to continue through mid-morning with some areas of the region receiving 2 to 5 inches.

The snow will mix with rain later on this afternoon when the temp peaks at 35.
