It’s been a tough few weeks in America for citizens and law enforcement personnel with the deaths of Philando Castille and Alton Sterling at the hands of police, the killing of 5 officers in Dallas and 21 officers hurt in St. Paul when protesters turned violent on I-94.

Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson spoke on the issue Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. with Rich Peterson on Rochester’s Good Morning on KROC-AM.

He said there needs to be a little more faith and trust from both sides. Regarding the protests, he said there’s a need for law enforcement to maintain and preserve safety for all people and they are happy to stand in and protect those who wish to express their feelings and their anger...

The Sheriff is a regular monthly guest on the second Wednesday each month on Rochester’s Good Morning. His next schedule appearance will be August 10.
