EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings punt returner Marcus Sherels will not play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday because of an ankle injury.

The Vikings say defensive tackle Linval Joseph is questionable with an injured shoulder, as is receiver Laquon Treadwell with a hamstring strain, and cornerback Captain Munnerlyn with an injured ankle.

Joseph and Munnerlyn were both able to practice on a limited basis on Friday. Joseph told reporters at the team headquarters that he believes he will be able to play, a promising sign for a team that has lost three straight after a 5-0 start.

But Treadwell was not able to practice on Friday, which is usually an ominous sign for a player's availability for the game that week. The rookie first-round draft pick saw an increase in playing time last weekend against Detroit and hoped to build on that momentum.
