Minnesota Gopher linebacker coach Mike Sherels of Rochester received good news over the weekend.  He's been released from the hospital and is now resting at home.

Gopher head coach Tracy Claeys made the announcement at the beginning of his weekly show on Facebook Live.

No other information has been released regarding his absence, other than he had to go through at least one "unscheduled" surgery.  He's been out since the beginning of fall practice at the U.  No information regarding when he might return to practice was given.

Sherels, a John Marshall grad and former Gopher standout linebacker has been the linebackers coach since 2014.
