Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A neighbor of a Rochester woman who was in the hospital giving birth this week is accused of breaking into her home.

Police Capt. John Sherwin says the 38-year-old woman returned to her home in the 800 block of 6th Ave NW Wednesday and discovered some items were missing. It just so happens she has a surveillance system in her house and when she checked the recording, found her neighbor and a man were the burglars.

Officers went to the neighbor’s workplace and found the man who had been with her during the burglary. Arrested was 35-year-old Jason Richards.

The neighbor - 35-year-old Jessi Adams - was on break and slipped away when she saw the officers. Sherwin says she went home and before officers arrived, returned some of the stolen property to the victim’s house. But she was still arrested.

Sherwin says they may have used a spare key to get in as there was no sign of forced entry.
