Undated (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester man who is awaiting sentencing for some burglaries last year has been charged with a new case.

This one was reported by a Byron woman last October 18th, about a week before the Rochester incidents.

The Byron woman says she awoke around two in the morning and saw a strange man in her bedroom. The woman says she screamed and the man fled. She later discovered some money, jewelry and other items were missing from her home.

She also found a cigarette butt outside her home and detectives submitted it for DNA testing. The results led to the identification of 25-year-old Janarie Payton as the suspect and he is now facing a 1st degree burglary charge.

The three Rochester cases also involved burglaries of occupied homes.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in those cases next month.
