Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to 17 months in prison for leading authorities on a high-speed chase in September.

59-year-old Dennis Craig Smith earlier entered guilty pleas to a felony charge of fleeing police and a misdemeanor drunk driving charge. He was arrested in the early morning hours of September 22nd in the Douglas area after a State Trooper performed a maneuver that finally ended an 8 mile long pursuit. The chase began when an Olmsted County deputy spotted Smith driving east of the westbound lanes of Highway 14 near County Road 104 just west of Rochester and attempted to make a traffic stop.
