ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Children's Museum in Rochester won't be moving to the former downtown armory.

The announcement to the museum's members Wednesday by executive director Heidi Mestad is a reversal of strategy outlined last year. The museum planned to join the Rochester Arts and Cultural Collaborative in the historic castle-style building.

Mestad says the museum will eventually need a larger location. It's currently located in the River Center Plaza.

Mestad says the museum will shift away from searching for a specific space to defining its long-term vision.
