Minneapolis (GopherSports.com) -  The No. 4 University of Minnesota volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over No. 1 Penn State, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21, Saturday at the Sports Pavilion in front of a sold out crowd of 5,535 fans.

With the win, the Golden Gophers' win streak is at 14-straight, and earned their first win over Penn State since 2010. The last time Minnesota swept Penn State dates back to 2003, while the last time Minnesota swept the Nittany Lions at home was in 2002.

As a team, Minnesota hit .275 to Penn State's .236, out blocked PSU, 9-7, and had a 7-1 ace advantage.Sarah Wilhite led the Gophers with 12 kills, including nine in the third set, hitting a team-high .579. Daly Santana had 11 kills, and Hannah Tapp had 10 with a team-high five blocks. Molly Lohman contributed six kills and four blocks, and Paige Tapp added five. Samantha Seliger-Swenson had 35 assists and Dalianliz Rosado added a team-high 10 digs. Katie Schau contributed eight digs, while Alyssa Goehner had five.

Minnesota will host Maryland this Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.
