Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Here’s another opportunity to become involved in the process of selecting a new official city flag for Rochester.

The design selection process for the Rochester Flag Project started last year.

The first round designs were accepted and voted on last year. Six finalists were selected out of 55 submitted designs.

Spokeswoman Anastasia Hopkins Folpe says more designs for the second round were submitted and voting is now underway. Folpe says votes for the second round will be accepted through April 22nd. She says as of Friday, 400 votes had already been submitted.

Folpe says after the second round voting ends, there will be an award ceremony and a final vote of the 12 entries chosen in both rounds, “ plus other designs of merit as chosen by the judges.”

She says a final vote will be made in May and the winning design will be presented to the City Council for official adoption. For information on how to vote, visit https://www.rochesterflag.com/.
