Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - The second man charged in a Byron “home alone” burglary case will be sentenced in August.

47-year-old Todd Bauer has entered an Alford plea to a 1st degree burglary charge. The plea means he does not admit guilt, but acknowledges there is sufficient evidence to convict him.

The Byron man and a Hayfield man were arrested in April after an 11-year-old boy, who was home alone, spotted the pair trying to break into his family’s home in Byron and called 911. Olmsted County deputies responded and found Bauer and 47-year-old Philip Bartlett hiding in a nearby garage.

Bartlett was recently sentenced to 3 years in prison.
