Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -  Home buyers and sellers were busy in Minnesota last month.

The latest monthly report from the Minnesota Association of Realtors shows the number of closings on sales of existing homes throughout the state were up over 20-percent in April, and pending sales jumped almost 12-percent when compared to April of last year. The median sales price climbed just over 11.5-percent to $193,000.

Since the start of the year, Minnesota has seen almost 20,000 closings on sales of existing homes, which is nearly 11-percent higher than the total through the first four months of 2014.

The report shows the number of closings in southeastern Minnesota last month was over 22-percent above the total from April 2014, while the median sales price was also up about 22-percent to just under $164,000.
