Rochester police continue looking for a suspect in a shooting that happened on a city street last night.Officers learned of the shooting around 7:30 when a man who had been shot in the chin showed up at St. Mary’s for treatment of his wound.

A spokesman says the 20 -year old man and some friends had been involved in a physical confrontation with some other men in the area of 4 ½ street and 13th avenue northwest, near the Perkins north restaurant. One of the other men took out a gun and fired one shot. He and his friends then fled.

It’s believed the altercation began as an attempted robbery and was drug-related.  Those involved are in their late teens and early 20’s.
