Rochester Woman Suffers Multiple Injuries After Being Hit By Truck
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman is recovering from multiple injuries she suffered after being hit by a pickup truck earlier this week.
A police report indicates 43 year old Josephine Dashow was in the crosswalk at the intersection of 11th Ave and 14th Street NW near Assisi Heights around 5 p.m. Monday when she was struck.
The police report indicates she suffered a collapsed lung, perforated esophagus and some broken bones. She was initially in the ICU at St. Mary’s but was reported in fair condition Friday morning.
The truck was driven by 29 year old Anthony Thornton of Byron. He told officers he was making a turn onto 11th Ave and was distracted by an oncoming car and did not see Dashow. It was also raining and dark at the time.
No tickets were issued at the scene.
