Roseville, MN (KROC AM News) -  A Rochester woman had something special to celebrate on Christmas Day. Jamie Haase won a Northstar Cash jackpot worth $37,420 for the Dec 25th drawing.

“It was a very nice, and unexpected, Christmas present,” Haase said as she claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters in Roseville on Dec. 28.

Haase won the jackpot by matching all five winning number drawn, which she picked herself using a combination of family birth dates.  She purchased the winning ticket at the Holiday store located at 1851 Assisi Drive N.W.  Haase, who works as a school bus driver for First Student in Rochester, says she’s looking forward to paying off some bills, having extra spending money for an upcoming pre-planned anniversary trip with her husband and putting the rest away for a rainy day.

The state lottery is still waiting to hear from the winner of a $1 million prize in the Powerball game drawing on Nov. 26. It was sold at a Coborn’s store in St. Cloud.

Meanwhile, time is running out for two smaller but still significant Powerball winners in southeast Minnesota. Both of the $50,000 tickets were sold in January and the holder needs to turn them in before it’s too late. One was sold at the High Plains Cooperative in Plainview on Jan. 9th. The other was sold at a Kwik Trip in Austin Jan. 13.

The tickets expire one year from the date of the drawing.
