Rochester Woman Injured in Fall From Arizona Cliff

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — A hiker from Minnesota has been rescued after falling 100 feet from a cliff in northwestern Arizona and spending 24 hours stranded with serious injuries.

The Kingman Daily Miner reports 25-year-old Amber Kohnhorst of Rochester, Minnesota, suffered head and back injuries after falling from an Arizona Strip cliff while hiking the Rose Cliffs Trail on Friday afternoon.

Owners of the Cane Beds Inn where Kohnhorst was staying noticed that she hadn't returned from the hike by Saturday morning and called authorities.

A Department of Public Safety helicopter team heard Kohnhorst screaming for help and took her Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah.

Mohave County sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter says the paramedic found that Kohnhorst had a severe head injury.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in an effort to raise funds to help cover Amber's growing medical expenses.
