Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman has been charged with stealing nearly a quarter million dollars from her employer over a two year period.

Seven felony theft charges have been filed in Olmsted County Court against 35 year old Elizabeth Nhean.

The criminal complaint says Nhean worked on the payroll operations of International Quality Homecare Corporation and two of its related businesses. The company’s CEO notified police of the huge theft after discovering suspicious transactions in April. Nhean was out of the country at the time.

An investigation determined the money had been taken between April 2013 and April this year when the discovery was made. The overall loss has been put at just under $237,000.

According to the complaint, Nhean told an investigator she had spent the money on vacations, clothing and other items.

She has been ordered to make her first court appearance October 27th.
