Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman has been charged with using money from a vulnerable person to buy new motor vehicles.

Five counts of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult have been filed against 52-year-old Courtney Montgomery.

The criminal complaint says she was given power of attorney over the financial affairs of a vulnerable adult female in August last year. An investigation found she spent $188,000 of the victim’s money in Rochester, most of it on three vehicles and a motorcycle. Several new or late model vehicles were spotted at Montgomery’s home when an investigator went there to interview her.

The criminal complaint indicates other money may have been spent elsewhere.

The local investigator found records that showed credit card charges totaling $900,000, including $52,000 for private charter jet service.

Montgomery is scheduled for arraignment August 17th.
