Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - A Rochester woman has been charged with stealing a significant amount of money from two elderly and vulnerable adults.

Police say 46 year old Kelly Lynne Johnson had power of attorney for both victims so she could pay their bills and take care of other financial affairs.  An investigation began after one of the victims’ bills were not paid.

Johnson is accused of taking $37,000 from the victim’s bank account between August 2012 and April of this year. During the investigation, it was learned Johnson had also taken money from the second victim. In that case, she is accused of stealing $13,000 from the victim’s account.

Johnson has been ordered to make her first court appearance August 31.
