The dichotomy of the Obama administration on the Islamic State group's threat became even more noticeable over the past week.

During the Rochester Today show with Tom Ostrom and Andy Brownell on KROC-AM Friday morning Tom highlighted some of the highly contrasted statements from the President and his administration concerning the threat posed by Islamic State and other Islamic terrorist groups.

While President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have taken pains to downplay the threat and to decouple terror groups inspired by Islamist teachings from the Muslim faith, Ostrom noted the Director of the FBI is now saying ISIS is active in all 50 states of the United States, with the extremists using social media to recruit new fighters and sympathizers inside our borders. The same day, after Secretary of State John Kerry told Congress that we are living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world, National Intelligence Director James Clapper testified that, "When the final accounting is done, 2014 will have been the most lethal year for global terrorism in the 45 years such data has been compiled."
