Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester teenager has been charged with being involved in the robbery of a local liquor store earlier this year.

Police say 19-year-old Adam Hassan and a 17-year-old from Red Wing robbed Joe’s Liquor in July. Police say they made off with nearly $1,000 in cash and about $500 in liquor.

The owner of the business was there at the time. He said the Red Wing teenager pointed a large knife at him before taking money from a cash drawer while Hassan filled a bag with liquor bottles. The owner was able to identify the two even though they were wearing masks. He told police Hassan had been in the store earlier asking how much a bottle of Hennessy cost. The owner told him to leave because he had no ID.

A police officer who was investigating the robbery the next day looked up and spotted a man he recognized from the surveillance video outside the store with two other men. One of them was holding a bottle of liquor that had been stolen during the robbery. The man he recognized was Hassan, who was arrested.
