Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Chorale has announced the organization’s president is being placed on unpaid leave.

44-year-old Jeffery Amundson was suspended with pay in late January after he was charged with stealing about $18,000 dollars from a vulnerable adult living in a local group home.

A statement issued Tuesday by the Symphony and Chorale says the criminal proceedings against Amundson have been delayed on two occasions and the Board of Directors decided to stop paying his salary as of April 1st to conserve funds due to the uncertainty surrounding the length of time before the case is resolved.

Amundson’s next court appearance is currently scheduled on May 18th.
