Rochester Stabbing Case Dismissed
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The case against a man charged with a stabbing in downtown Rochester earlier this year has been dropped.
The incident happened in April outside downtown bar Top Shots.
Police say the 40-year-old victim apparently got into a confrontation with another man and was stabbed in the upper chest. The man who stabbed him fled but a suspect was later apprehended. Four felony assault charges were filed against 27-year-old Abdullahi Mohamed Ali of Barron, Wisconsin and he was scheduled to go on trial this week. But Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem says the case was dismissed because of problems in making a positive ID of the suspect.
