Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The AARP organization has released the results of its latest search for the most livable places in the country and they show Rochester was ranked fourth of cities with populations between 100,000 and 500,000.

Madison, Wisconsin was at the top of the list, followed by St. Paul, Sioux Falls, Rochester and Minneapolis to round out the top five.

La Crosse was ranked first in the small cities category while San Francisco was the most favored city in the ranking of large cities.

AARP says it based its rankings on research and a survey of 4500 Americans who are 50 years old or older. The categories that were examined were housing, neighborhood, transportation, environment, health, engagement and opportunity.
