Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - Rochester police investigators are treating the discovery of a man’s body as suspicious as they wait for autopsy results.

Police Captain John Sherwin says the body was found around 1:15 pm. Wednesday on a vacant lot along Civic Center Drive east of Bilotti’s Restaurant that is used to store gravel and rock.

A man working at the site spotted the body near the railroad tracks.  Sherwin says the body was badly decomposed and may have been there a week or longer. He says a tentative ID has been made and it’s hoped the autopsy will confirm the man’s name.

More information is expected later today.
