Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Park Board has approved a contract that will help lead to the development of a Park System Master Plan.

The $130,000 contract was awarded to the HKGI/SEH team, which is expected to begin its work this month.

The work will include an assessment of the current system and facilities, including their physical condition as well as funding strategies for maintenance and improvements.

The board was told public engagement during the assessment stage of the process will be intense and will include input from residents and park users. A task force to help collect that input is expected to be appointed soon.

Work on the master plan is scheduled to be completed next May.
