Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced over seven years in prison for convictions connected to a couple drug busts at a residence near the Boys and Girls Club in southeast Rochester.

40-year-old Michael Mechtel previously admitted to first and third degree drug possession charges stemming from separate raids on the residence he shared with Marcy Maklenburg.  The first occurred last November, while the second raid took place in January after the couple was released from the Olmsted County jail on bail.

In both cases, police found around 500 grams of methamphetamine at the house. Police also found about $34,000 cash in the first case and another $6700 during the second search of the couple’s home.

Maklenburg has also pleaded guilty to charges stemming from both raids and is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
